I saw Imogen Heap live at El Mocambo in Toronto on January 12, 2006 and I have to say it was definitely one of the best shows I have seen in quite some time.

I didn't really know what to expect when I went in other than some sort of talented performance.

What I got was a very unique setup. She introduced her band and looked around sheepishly at the empty stage. A keyboard, a powerbook, a few processors, a beat box, and a large box -- a stringed instrument, that plays absolutely beautiful tones, that I cannot remember the name of, that was her band.

One performer, so many instruments, managed perfectly.

Imogen played for the crowd, amusing us with mild chatter telling us about how much water she drinks and that after the show it's Jägermeister. A fine choice ;)

She played for about an hour and a half -- which is a good chunk of songs that I would've expected, including a couple of Frou Frou tracks. She also had one of her opening acts come out, Zoë Keating a fantastic cellist, to accompany her on a couple of songs including her newest track on the Narnia soudntrack "Imogen Heap - Can't Take It In"

Overall, the only thing that would've made it better, is if it were in a sit-down, lounge type environment. Crowded belly up to the stage isn't really the best way to enjoy this type of music. But, the audience was good, well behaved, and in the end most of the left making it easy to get a picture with Imogen ;)

I think any club but that one would have been much prefered. Some of the old people must have been having a cardiac standing all that time while Milosh fiddled around with gear and Immi played. Maybe next time she is this way they will scout out a more suitable venue for her, she deserved way better then that dive I tell ya. Had fun Darryl. thanks for letting me torture you.

Cellist should be spelt "Chelist" in my opinion. If it were English. Or at least American English. Which... upon further but brief consideration... leaves me to conclude we should leave it how it's spelt.

hey dude. that may have been the most pointless comment ever hehe :)

Imogen Heap is good. weird, but good. Frou Frou is nice musics. I think maybe the Sigsworth dude adds a lot, 'cause I don't seem to like her solo stuff as much... but 'tis just me.

p.s. What the hell kind of a name is that, anyway?

p.p.s. I just found out - if the information is accurate, that is. Kinda cool, actually.
